Your fix
Dots don't work in a phone browser
It worked when your dot is the first row of the app's menu.
A phone can message and call a dot through the ChatGPT app. A phone browser can't open one at all.

The app is in Codex mode
It worked when Your dot appears under New chat.
The desktop app has two modes. In Codex mode the sidebar lists your projects and can leave the dot out.

A dot has to be created on a computer first
It worked when you open the phone app's menu afterwards and your dot is the first row.
The phone app shows a dot that already exists. It can't create one.

Your phone app needs to catch up

A dot shows in the phone app once the app has the update that supports it. Signing back in makes the app load your account again.

Free, Go and Plus have no dot, and no setting adds one. The lowest-priced plan with a dot is Pro 100 at $100 a month.

On Pro in these regions, clicking through shows a dialog that reads "Dots aren’t available in your region yet". The rollout doesn't change it.

Dots reach workspaces gradually, and access can take several days. A greyed-out switch turns live when your workspace is included.

This message shows after dots have been switched off for a workspace. OpenAI support can clear it.

In Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare workspaces dots are off until an owner enables them under Workspace settings, Permissions & roles, Permissions, Workspace default, Workspace capabilities. FedRAMP workspaces, workspaces with Enterprise Key Management and workspaces with UAE inference residency can't turn them on.
