# ChatGPT Dots in Europe and the UK: how to get a dot

ChatGPT Pro has no dot in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. A Business Premium seat does, from $120 a month. Find your country and price the switch.

ChatGPT Pro comes without a dot in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland. You can still get one there: a ChatGPT Business workspace with a Premium seat includes a dot in every region, from $120 a month.

**In short**

- The block is on **Pro**, on every tier, in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. That covers 32 countries.
- A **Business Premium seat** includes a dot in all of them.
- A workspace needs two seats, so one person pays $120 a month billed annually, or $150 billed monthly.
- OpenAI hasn't given a date for Pro. A VPN isn't a route: it breaks OpenAI's terms.

## Is your country covered?

OpenAI names three places: the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. The map shows the 32 countries they cover. Find yours, then set what you pay now, and the calculator compares switching to Business with staying where you are.

**The Business route for one person:** 1 Premium seat and 1 Standard seat. $100 + $20 = $120 a month billed annually ($1,440 for the year), or $125 + $25 = $150 a month billed monthly. A workspace needs at least 2 seats.

## Set up the Business route

Once the numbers work for you, the switch is four actions. Do them in this order.

### Step 1: Create a Business workspace with two seats

Start at [chatgpt.com/business](https://chatgpt.com/business). Buy two seats: one Premium, one Standard.

### Step 2: Give yourself the Premium seat

The dot comes with the seat type. Assign the Premium seat to the account you want the dot on. The Standard seat is a full seat for a second person, without a dot.

### Step 3: Cancel Pro, or decide to keep it

Your Pro subscription doesn't move into the workspace. It keeps billing until you cancel it.

### Step 4: Create your dot on a computer

Open ChatGPT in the workspace and click **Your dot** under **New chat**. [Set up your dot](https://howtousedots.com/setup) has every screen.

## What changes when you move from Pro to a Premium seat

Before you cancel Pro, look at what the Premium seat changes besides the dot.

## Don't buy Pro for the dot

The pricing page still lists a dot on the Pro card when you open it from Europe. That line doesn't apply in the 32 countries above.

On the same page, switch to **Business & Enterprise** and scroll to the comparison table. The **Dots** row under **Business** reads "Business Premium". That's the seat to buy.

## Check you've got it

**Predict: You're on Pro 200 in Dublin and you see the region dialog. You upgrade to Pro 500. What happens when you click Your dot?**

- Your dot is created, because Pro 500 is the top tier
- The same dialog appears
- ChatGPT offers you a Business workspace

The rule is about Pro in your region, on every tier. Pro 500 buys more usage and Astra Ultrafast. In Ireland, a dot comes with a Premium seat in a Business workspace.

### When is Dots coming to ChatGPT Pro in the EU and the UK?

OpenAI hasn't given a date or a reason. It plans to expand dots to more users, and the dialog says you'll be told when your plan gets them. Until then, staying on Pro costs you nothing extra.

### I have ChatGPT Business in the UK. Why don't I see dots?

Check your seat type first: only Premium seats include a dot. On a Premium seat, the usual cause is the gradual rollout, which can take several days to reach a workspace. [Dots not showing up](https://howtousedots.com/not-showing-up)

### Can I keep my Pro plan and add a Business workspace just for the dot?

Yes, if you keep your personal workspace separate from the Business one. You pay for both until you cancel one.

### Are the prices in euros or pounds?

Checkout shows your local currency. The figures here are OpenAI's US dollar list prices, and prices vary by country, so check [chatgpt.com/pricing](https://chatgpt.com/pricing) while signed in.

### Can I use a VPN?

Using a VPN to get past the regional restriction breaks OpenAI's terms. The supported route is a Business Premium seat.

### My company has ChatGPT Enterprise. Can I get a dot?

Yes, once a workspace admin turns dots on. That goes for Edu and Healthcare workspaces too. During the beta, dots don't support data residency or inference residency, and OpenAI asks the workspace to accept that first. [Dots for workspace admins](https://howtousedots.com/admin)
