# Can I get ChatGPT Dots? Plan, country and workspace checker

Check if you can get a dot in three taps: which ChatGPT plans include one, where Pro leaves it out, and what a work account needs before Your dot appears.

*From How to Use Dots, an independent guide (not affiliated with OpenAI). Web version: https://howtousedots.com/availability Last verified: 2026-10-06.*

*Step 2 of 10 on the path "Learn Dots, step by step". Before it: [What is Dots?](https://howtousedots.com/what-is-dots.md). After it: [Set up your dot](https://howtousedots.com/setup.md).*

You can get a dot if you're 18 or over and you have ChatGPT Pro outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a Business Premium seat anywhere, or an Enterprise workspace where an admin has turned dots on. Free, Go and Plus don't include one.

**In short**

- **Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500** each include one dot, except in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- **Business Premium seats** include one dot in every region. Standard seats don't.
- **Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare**: a dot is a beta feature your admin switches on.
- One dot per person, and you create it on a computer.

## Check your account

Start with your own case.

**Interactive: Can you get a dot?**

Open it: https://howtousedots.com/widgets/dots-eligibility-checker.html

What it does: Three taps: your ChatGPT plan, whether you live in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, and for a work account your seat or whether an admin has turned dots on. The result says yes, no or not yet, lists what to do next, and shows the Your dot entry in the ChatGPT sidebar.

Its content as text:

### Can you get a dot?

Three taps: your plan, where you live, your workspace.

Find the line that matches your plan and where you live.

Pro · outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland

#### Yes. Your Pro plan includes one dot.

Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500 each come with one dot at no extra cost. You need to be 18 or over.

Do this next

1. Open ChatGPT on a computer, in a browser or the desktop app.
2. Click **Your dot**, right under **New chat**.
3. Follow the short setup screens. [Set up your dot](https://howtousedots.com/setup) shows each one.

No **Your dot** entry? Access can take several days to reach an account. [Try these fixes](https://howtousedots.com/not-showing-up).

Pro · in the EEA, UK or Switzerland

#### No. Pro doesn't include a dot where you live.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, all three Pro tiers come without a dot.

Do this next

- Open a **ChatGPT Business** workspace and take a **Premium seat**. Premium seats include a dot in every region.
- A workspace needs 2 seats. The cheapest setup is 1 Premium + 1 Standard: **$120 a month** billed annually ($1,440 for the year), or **$150 a month** billed monthly.

[Dots in Europe and the UK](https://howtousedots.com/europe-uk) walks through that route.

Free, Go or Plus · outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland

#### No. Free, Go and Plus don't include a dot.

A dot comes with Pro, with a Business Premium seat, or with an Enterprise workspace that has turned dots on.

Do this next

- Upgrade to **Pro 100**: $100 a month, billed monthly. It's the cheapest plan with a dot where you live.
- Skip Pro 200 and Pro 500 unless you want the extra usage. Every Pro tier includes the same one dot.

[See what each plan costs](https://howtousedots.com/pricing).

Free, Go or Plus · in the EEA, UK or Switzerland

#### No. Free, Go and Plus don't include a dot.

Upgrading to Pro won't get you one either: Pro has no dot in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

Business · Premium seat · any region

#### Yes. Your Premium seat includes one dot.

Premium seats come with a dot in every region ChatGPT supports, including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

Business · Standard seat · any region

#### No. Standard seats don't include a dot.

In a Business workspace the dot comes with the seat. Premium has one and Standard doesn't, even side by side in the same workspace.

Do this next

- Ask your workspace owner to switch your seat to **Premium**. Owners change seat types in workspace settings.
- A Premium seat costs $100 per user per month billed annually, or $125 billed monthly.

[Work out what your workspace would pay](https://howtousedots.com/pricing).

Business · seat not known

#### It depends on your seat.

Premium seats include a dot. Standard seats don't.

Do this next

- Ask your workspace owner which seat you're on.
- Premium: open ChatGPT on a computer and click **Your dot**, under **New chat**.
- Standard: ask for a switch to Premium. It costs $100 per user per month billed annually, or $125 billed monthly.

Enterprise, Edu or Healthcare · dots turned on

#### Yes. Your workspace has dots turned on.

In these workspaces a dot is a beta feature that an admin enables. Yours has.

Ask your admin to check that **Use dots (Beta)** is on for a role you hold.

Enterprise, Edu or Healthcare · dots not turned on

#### Not yet. An admin has to turn dots on.

Dots are off by default in Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare workspaces.

Do this next

- Ask a workspace owner to enable **Use dots (Beta)**. It's under **Workspace settings**, then **Permissions & roles**.
- They can turn it on for everyone, or for chosen groups.

[Dots for workspace admins](https://howtousedots.com/admin) has the steps to send them.

Enterprise · FedRAMP, EKM or UAE inference residency

#### No. This kind of workspace can't use dots.

Three kinds of workspace are left out of the beta: FedRAMP workspaces, workspaces with Enterprise Key Management (EKM), and workspaces with inference residency set to the UAE.

Do this next

- There's no setting for you or your admin to change.
- Not sure your workspace is one of the three? Your admin will know.

[Dots for workspace admins](https://howtousedots.com/admin) lists what each workspace type can do.

What you'll see in ChatGPT

On a computer, **Your dot** sits in the sidebar, right under **New chat**. No entry there means no dot on this account yet.

What ChatGPT shows a Pro account in the EEA, UK or Switzerland

The dialog reads **Dots aren't available in your region yet**. ChatGPT lets you know when dots reach your region.

## Which plans include a dot?

The checker answers for one account. This table is the whole rule, plan by plan.

**Who can get a dot**

| Plan | Dot included | Where | What else has to be true |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free, Go, Plus | No | Nowhere | Nothing. Move to a plan below |
| Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500 | Yes | Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland | You're 18 or over |
| Business, Standard seat | No | Nowhere | Switch the seat to Premium |
| Business, Premium seat | Yes | Every region | You're 18 or over |
| Enterprise, Edu, Healthcare | Partial | Rolling out worldwide | An admin turns dots on |

The dot comes with the plan at no extra cost. [Pricing](https://howtousedots.com/pricing) has what each row costs.

## Where does Pro include a dot?

The Pro row is the one that depends on where you live. Pro includes a dot everywhere except three places: the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. A Business Premium seat includes one there too.

Diagram: The Pro plan points to two regions. Everywhere else, highlighted, gets a dot. The EEA, UK and Switzerland, hatched out, get no dot from Pro. A Business Premium seat points into the hatched region: it includes a dot there too.
- Pro plan → Everywhere else: dot included
- Pro plan → EEA, UK, Switzerland: no dot
- Business Premium seat → EEA, UK, Switzerland: dot included

*The block is on Pro, and only in three places. The seat type gets you past it.*

The EEA is the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. OpenAI doesn't publish a country-by-country list, so go by that: if you live in one of those countries, the UK or Switzerland, Pro comes without a dot. [Dots in Europe and the UK](https://howtousedots.com/europe-uk) covers the Business route step by step.

## On a work or school account?

The last row of the table needs someone else to act. In an Enterprise, Edu or Healthcare workspace, dots start switched off. A workspace owner turns on one setting, for everyone or for chosen groups.

**Illustration: Workspace settings**

> Permissions & roles
> - ==Use dots (Beta)==: off (For everyone by default, or for chosen groups through custom roles.)

*The setting is called **Use dots (Beta)**. It lives under **Workspace settings**, then **Permissions & roles**.*

Three kinds of workspace can't turn dots on at all:

- FedRAMP workspaces
- Workspaces with Enterprise Key Management (EKM)
- Workspaces with inference residency set to the UAE

HIPAA workspaces can use dots if they meet the other requirements. Admins: [Dots for workspace admins](https://howtousedots.com/admin) has every setting.

## Check you've got it

Plan, place and seat type decide it between them. Try the rule on seven people.

**Sort it: Who gets a dot today? Sort each person.**

Answer:
- Pro 100 in Canada → Gets a dot (Every Pro tier includes a dot outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.)
- Business Premium seat in France → Gets a dot (Premium seats include a dot in every region.)
- Pro 500 in Japan → Gets a dot (Same rule as Pro 100. The tier changes the usage, not the dot.)
- Pro 200 in Germany → Doesn't (Germany is in the EEA, where Pro comes without a dot.)
- Plus in the United States → Doesn't (Plus doesn't include a dot anywhere.)
- Pro 100 in Norway → Doesn't (Norway isn't in the EU, but it is in the EEA.)
- Business Standard seat in Canada → Doesn't (In Business the dot comes with the Premium seat.)

## Next step

If you qualify, create your dot. Dots roll out gradually, and access can take several days to reach an account, so the **Your dot** entry may not be there on day one. [Dots not showing up](https://howtousedots.com/not-showing-up) has the fixes if it stays missing.

**Next:** [Set up your dot](https://howtousedots.com/setup)

Create your dot in about a minute: click Your dot in ChatGPT on a computer, choose which apps to connect and where it can work, then give it a name.

### When is Dots coming to ChatGPT Plus?

OpenAI hasn't given a date. It plans to bring dots to more users. Until then, the cheapest plan with a dot is Pro 100 at $100 a month.

### If I can get a dot, can I text it?

Texting is a separate, limited beta for Pro users in the US, and some Pro users there don't have it. Business and Enterprise workspaces can't use it.
